On Monday, March 26, Barrington Middle School Richard Wheeler submitted his retirement letter to the Superintendent’s office. It’s a move that signals an end to Mr. Wheeler’s 35 years at the middle school, 20 of which have been spent as Principal.

Brent has been named editor-in-chief of The Vermont Cynic and is excited about the opportunity to take his reporting position at the newspaper to the next level. He’s also mildly intimidated by the task of maintaining the level of success the collegiate newspaper has experienced in recent years. In October, The Vermont Cynic won college journalism’s top award: the Newspaper Pacemaker.

Paul Darling’s newest book is like a walk down memory lane for the longtime Barrington resident. Entitled “We Were Pioneers — Memories of Channel 12 Television and WPRO Radio,” the book includes hundreds of photos from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as interviews with well known people in the news industry.
