BARRINGTON — Barrington Recreation Department is offering the town’s young people a few activities to keep themselves busy during the holiday break.
Basketball tournament
The recreation department is hosting a holiday invitational 3-on-3 basketball round robin tournament, which will be open to students in grades 6 through 12. Grades 6, 7 and 8 will play on Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; grades 9 through 12 will play on Thursday, Dec. 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fee for this program is $5.00 per person or $25 per team. There is a limit of five players per team and the tournament is limited to eight teams. The deadline for all entries is Friday, Dec. 23.
Magic show and movie
The recreation department is also offering a magic show with magician Peter Boie on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Library Auditorium Gallery. The movie “Home Alone” will also be shown at 1 p.m. These two events are free and open to the public.
