The local-laden Providence Junior Bears Bantam A team recently captured the state title.
EAST BAY — The Providence Junior Bears Bantam A hockey team, which had a decidedly local flavor, recently won the state championship. The Bears defeated Woonsocket, 4-3, for the title.
The Providence roster included eight boys from Barrington: Derek Carlson, Matt Parker, Cam Roy, Nick Graham, Stephen Paras, Paul MacDonald, Colin Clegg and Matt Ernster. The team’s coaches — Matt Parker, Doug Carlson and Kyle Roy — were also from the town.
