BARRINGTON More coyotes have been spotted around Clarke, Bluff and Middle Highway. Recently Jack’s little dog, Russell, was howling and barking rapidly.
Jack’s dad shot up like a slinky and sprinted to the door. He said, “Turn on the outside lights.” Jack’s sister dashed to the lights and thought they were off but Jack turned them on. She flipped the switch and the lights went off. Jack’s dad said, “Turn the lights on, Parker!”
Jack’s dad bent down to pick up Jack’s dog and got him, the coyote was two or three feet away but Jack’s dad scared it away. Luckily Russell wasn’t injured or bitten and Jack’s dad wasn’t in his underwear, he was in his pajamas.
On another day Jack’s babysitter was driving down Middle Highway when she screeched to a stop to what she thought was a dog. It was actually a coyote.
Just remember tiny dogs sometimes have tiny chances with coyotes so keep them on a leash! If you don’t keep it on a leash remember you might have to save up your money for a new dog if you live near or on Clarke, Bluff or Middle Highway and just keep an eye out.
