These girls played football for Barrington Pop Warner teams this year.
Did you ever think about girls playing football? Well, it’s possible and I happen to be one of them. This is what they think about football.
Some people think more girls should play football. Alexis Malnerich said, “Yes, more girls should play football because I think girls can do what boys can do.”
Meredith Kaplan said, “More girls should play football because if there were only a couple of girls, they would feel different from all the other people. It doesn’t matter if you are a boy or a girl, both can like football.”
Football is hard, but Sydney Hoover said, “I think the hardest part is the nervousness of playing for the first time.”
The girls don’t think the boys treat them differently.
“I remember that the first few practices the boys were surprised to have girls playing with them. But after a while they treat us like any other player on the team,” said Bridget Kegelman.
Some girls are playing next year, but some are not sure. Casey Bassignani said, “I’m not sure, maybe if my friends play too.”
