BARRINGTON The Barrington High School math team competed in its first national math contest in November — the ARML Power Contest (American Regions Math League).
Barrington placed fifth in the contest, which featured more than 50 teams from around the country. Many states also entered all-star teams to compete in the contest.
Also, the Barrington High School team is currently in fourth place in the New England Math League. Boston Latin, Lexington (Mass.) and Phillips Academy are tied for first place.
Barrington students Stephen Lamontange and Cassidy Laidlaw have a perfect score for the season and are tied with 15 other students for the top ranking in New England.
