Dorothy H. (Burgstahler) Greenwood, 86, of Barrington, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011. She is the wife of Robert A. Greenwood to whom she had been married 60 years.
Born in Boston, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Albert and Annie Burgstahler.
She graduated from RISD with a BFA in illustration in 1948. She was an artist at Paramount Line Greeting Cards, the bookkeeper for the family business, Greenwood Associates, and a loving, dedicated mother and grandmother.
She leaves her children, Laurie Thompson of Barrington, Gail Greenwood and her partner, Henry Mott of Middletown, and Scott Greenwood and his wife, Carolyn Sedgwick of Little Compton.
She was the mother of the late Betsy Bowersock. She leaves her grandchildren, Lauren and Meredith Thompson, and Andrew, Oliver and Emmett Greenwood. She also leaves her sisters, Beverly Christ and Betty Cammack, and her extended family of caregivers.
A Service of Remembrance was held Nov. 19 at the Smith-Mason Funeral Home in Riverside and burial was private. Gifts in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
